ELMHURST – Looking to give the gift of time to a good cause? Are you part of club or group that is looking for a project to take on? Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare (EMHC) is currently looking for volunteers for various hours of the day between 7 am and 9 pm. Volunteers are needed at all EMHC locations, but particularly at the Elmhurst Memorial Center for Health and the Elmhurst Memorial Lombard Health Center.
Volunteer services and programs are available for men and women in over 50 service areas in the organization including the information desk, patient transport, room service, gift and resale shops, surgical and critical care waiting areas, rehabilitative services, medical library, hospice, clerical and support services.
"Volunteers are a very special and important part of the care that is provided at EMHC," said Lora Vega, Director of Volunteer Services at EMHC. "We are always looking for new faces to join the more than 450 men, women and teen volunteers from the community who contribute their time and caring to patients, visitors and staff each year."
In order to make the volunteer experience as rewarding as possible, Volunteer Services staff work closely with all volunteers to match their skills and interests with a position at EMHC. Orientation and customer service training is provided.
For more information about volunteer opportunities, or to register for an upcoming orientation session, please call Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Volunteer Services at (630) 833-1400, extension 41095.
