The new Elmhurst Memorial Hospital will be home to some of the most advanced technology in Illinois, bringing the future of medicine closer to the community you call home.
da Vinci Surgical System
The da Vinci System is a sophisticated robotic platform designed to expand a surgeon's capabilities and offer a minimally invasive option for major surgery.
With da Vinci, small incisions are used to introduce miniaturized wristed instruments and a high-definition 3-D camera. Seated comfortably at the da Vinci console, surgeons view a magnified, high-resolution 3-D image of the surgical site. At the same time, state-of-the-art robotic and computer technologies scale, filter and seamlessly translate the surgeon's hand movements into precise micro-movements of the da Vinci instruments.
Acquilion ONE CT Scanner
The latest advancement in computed tomography (CT) systems is the first dynamic volume CT system — and the new Elmhurst Memorial Hospital will be the first in Illinois to begin using it.
The Aquilion ONE makes it possible for the first time to image an entire organ in a single rotation. In addition to producing a 3-D depiction of an organ, the system can show how the organ and blood flow are dynamically functioning or moving within and around the organ. It can also perform a comprehensive neurological examination to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of stroke.
