ELMHURST – The Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare Board of Governors’ 61st Annual Fall Benefit Dinner, held on November 16 at Drury Lane, was an overwhelming success. More than 865 tickets were sold, and the event raised a record $178,000 to benefit the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Main Campus.
Sponsored by Suburban Bank & Trust and Superior Ambulance, the Fall Benefit Dinner’s featured speaker was Dick Portillo. Portillo is the owner and founder of the Portillo Restaurant Group, which is the recipient of numerous awards and is the largest privately-owned restaurant group in the Midwest. Combined, the concepts have nearly 4,000 employees and a total of 47 restaurants, plus a catering and shipping division and shopping center.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Main Campus, which opened on June 25, 2011. The new hospital, located at York Street and Roosevelt Road, features all private rooms, dedicated space for family members, healing gardens and extensive landscaping. Everything about it is designed to accommodate new technologies, expand community outreach and transform how care is provided.
During the event, it was announced that Tom Ricketts, Chairman of the Chicago Cubs, will be the featured speaker at the Board of Governors’ 62nd Annual Fall Benefit Dinner, which will be held on November 14.
