Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Receives Two Bronze Awards From the American Heart Association
Elmhurst — Elmhurst Memorial Hospital has received two distinguished awards from the American Heart Association: The Get With The Guidelines®–Heart Failure Bronze Quality Award and the Mission: Lifeline® Receiving Center- Bronze Level Recognition Award.
The Get With the Guidelines Award signifies that Elmhurst Memorial Hospital has reached an aggressive goal of treating heart failure patients for at least 90 days with 85 percent compliance to core standard levels of care outlined by the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology secondary prevention guidelines for heart failure patients. The goal of the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines program is to help hospitals implement appropriate evidence-based care and protocols that will reduce disability and the number of deaths in these patients.
Each year in the United States, nearly 300,000 people have a STEMI, or ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, the most severe form of heart attack. The Mission: Lifeline® Receiving Center- Bronze Level Recognition Award was granted to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital for its commitment and success in implementing a high standard of care for heart attack patients.
