The annual award is given based on a member’s contributions to the Chamber’s success, to the betterment of both the business community and Elmhurst community, and impact in their field of business, each in the given year and historically, along with years in business and years as a Chamber member.
“Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare is among the pillar institutions in our community, from its 1926 founding to last June’s unveiling of its new $450 million hospital complex in south Elmhurst last June,” said John Quigley, Chamber President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) since 1999. “We are blessed to have a major provider of health care services based, literally, in our own backyard.”
“We are honored to be selected as the Chamber’s Business of the Year,” stated W. Peter Daniels, President and CEO, Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare. Daniels added, “For more than 85 years, Elmhurst Memorial Hospital has proudly served this community. This past year was a historic one for us and those we care for. After years of thoughtful planning, designing and constructing, the new Elmhurst Memorial Hospital opened, ushering in the beginning of a new era of healthcare in the area. Aided by this new state-of-the-art facility, the dedication of our talented staff and physicians ensure that we will continue to strengthen our commitment to meeting the needs of the communities we serve.”
The award presentation will be made by Outgoing Chairman of the Board of Directors Kevin O’Keeffe and Quigley. Joining them in the award presentation will be representatives of OEC Business Interiors (900 North Church Road), the 2010 Business of the Year recipient. OEC will receive an acrylic Business of the Year plaque to put on display at his banquet hall.
