How to Eat Heart Healthy: Mexican, Italian and Sunday brunch
In celebration of American Heart Month, Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare is partnering with local restaurants to offer heart healthy meals at a Mexican restaurant, an Italian restaurant and Sunday brunch.
An Elmhurst Memorial Hospital (EMH) dietitian will introduce each meal and offer tips on how to order a heart healthy meal while dining on favorite foods. In addition, a physician on the medical staff of EMH will speak on current topics in cardiovascular health.
“How to Eat Heart Healthy While Dining at a Mexican Restaurant,” Tuesday, February 11, 6:30 p.m., La Hacienda, 1571 W. Lake St., Addison, $10. Andrew Rauh, MD, cardiologist with Midwest Heart-Advocate Medical Group and on the medical staff of EMH, will present “Cardiovascular Disease Risk.”
“How to Eat Heart Healthy at Sunday Brunch,” Sunday, February 16, 10 a.m., Grotto, 3011 Butterfield Rd., Oak Brook, $10. Laura Boyd, MD, family medicine physician with the Elmhurst Memorial Elmhurst Clinic and on the medical staff of EMH, will present “How Heart Disease Affects Women.”
“How to Eat Heart Healthy While Dining at an Italian Restaurant,” Tuesday, February 25, 6:30 p.m., ZaZa’s Restaurant, 441 W. Ogden Ave., Clarendon Hills, $10. Asif Serajian, DO, cardiologist with Lumen Cardiovascular Specialists, Ltd. and on the medical staff of EMH, will present “Small Steps to Better Cardiac Health.”
