Final brick now in place
In spring 2009, the masonry work on the new Elmhurst Memorial Hospital began. Earlier today, the last brick was placed on the building. It rests on the front of the Hospital, just to the west of the main entrance.
In just over one year, about 1.2 million bricks were placed on the building. If stretched end-to-end, they would cover 150 miles.
Photos and a video of the last brick going into place will be available on this site in the near future.
