Main Campus/Emergency Department: Construction Blog

Interior work progressing on schedule

Inside the new Elmhurst Memorial Hospital building, crews are active in all areas with work generally progressing from west to east. In the western portion of the building (which includes the Emergency Department, Intensive Care and three nursing units), drywall is almost complete, several of the units have been painted and ceiling grid and millwork installation has begun.

On the eastern side of the building, overhead mechanical and electrical systems are being installed and wall studs are being erected.

All patient rooms along the south portion of the building are now drywalled on the third and fourth floors with drywall scheduled to begin on the fifth floor before the end of the year.
