Family Birthing Center
Can I take a tour of the Family Birthing Center?
We would love to welcome you for a visit. Seeing the Hospital before you deliver is a great way to remove some of the mystery and help reduce any anxiety that you may feel. During the tour, you and your partner will get to see one of the labor and delivery rooms and a mother/baby room, and become familiar with the services that we offer. We also offer tours for siblings (ages two and up), so they can see what a hospital room looks like and hear more about becoming a big brother or sister.
What are the visiting hours?
Visiting the Family Birthing Center
For the babies’ safety, please refrain from coming to the Hospital if you’ve had the sniffles, been sick or had a fever in the past 24 hours.
We encourage the mother’s rest and request that no visitors arrive after 9 pm. Grandparents and siblings are welcome to visit anytime.
Children other than siblings can visit a mother/baby suite at the discretion of the new mother. All children need to be under the supervision of an adult who is not the patient.
No children 12 and under are allowed in the Special Care Nursery, other than a sibling who may visit for short durations when accompanied by an adult.
Who can be in the delivery/birthing room? The adults you choose to accompany you in the birthing room are there to support you during labor. Determining who is present during delivery is a decision that you make with your physician or midwife. However, if complications arise, we may ask people to leave. Caring for you and your baby is our top priority.
