Family Birthing Center
Having a new baby is one of the most amazing experiences you’ll ever have. It’s also a life-altering one, and a big adjustment to your current lifestyle. The more aware you are of what those changes may entail, the more joyous the experience will be. That’s where the Family Birthing Center at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital comes in.
The Family Birthing Center is created expressly for the purpose of helping new parents become comfortable with their roles as parents. It’s also about helping you bond with your baby. So while you’re at the Family Birthing Center, your baby will be with you day and night — unless a medical condition requires the baby being in the Special Care Nursery. Your partner or designated support person may also stay with you throughout the day and during the night if you wish.
Sharing this time together, knowing you have the support of the Family Birthing Center staff while you’re here, ensures your birthing experience and the time that follows is the best it can possibly be for you, your baby and your significant other.
Tours of the Family Birthing Center
Tours are offered every Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. No registration is necessary; just go the Front Desk at the Hospital and someone will direct you to the Family Birthing Center.
