Elmhurst Memorial Hospital’s Family Birthing Center includes 26 large, private, all-inclusive birthing suites. The Labor-Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum (LDRP) suites are designed for single-room care — through every stage of labor, delivery and recovery. Each suite is spacious enough for you and your family, and each has the comfortable amenities you might find at a traditional bed-and-breakfast — hardwood floors, a couch and rocking chair, private whirlpool bath, mini-fridge and VCR.
In addition, each suite is equipped with the latest in medical technology, discreetly concealed within the walls and ceiling to maintain a home-like atmosphere. The Family Birthing Center has the technology to handle both normal and high-risk deliveries, with a Level II special care nursery, two operating rooms for Cesarean sections and a sophisticated central fetal monitoring system.
