Occupational Health:Workers’ Compensation
Workers’ compensation is our specialty. Our clients claim fewer lost workdays than the national average for workplace injuries thanks to an aggressive approach that gives your employees expert medical care and healing rehabilitation to help them recover quickly so they can be back on the job.
With the vast resources of Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare behind us, whatever your employees’ healthcare needs, from general examinations to specialized treatments, we have them covered. And we are a preferred provider for most insurance programs.
Acute Injury Care
We are equipped to care for your employees 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in four convenient locations. Workplace injuries are treated by board-certified physicians in a variety of specialties. Our physicians’ top priority is to get your employees back to work.
Case Coordination with No-Charge Referral Tracking
We have an internal case coordinator who has built relationships with the specialists on staff at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital to ensure that referrals are handled to help manage all claims. All cases are tracked from the beginning to ensure speedy recovery for the injured employee to get him/her back to work faster with maximum medical improvement.
In addition, our case managers are available to help you navigate through mandated regulations and paperwork required for workers’ compensation cases. We provide ongoing communication with you and complete documentation, including:
- Diagnosis reports
- Treatment plans
- Drug screening reports
- Return-to-work status reports
Employer Communication
Our dedicated team provides you with timely results at all times. Our physicians call you with status updates regarding your employees and welcome questions regarding the care that has been provided. We deliver results by fax, e-mail and phone for all drug screenings. We also employ a Web-based system that allows access to injury care and drug screen results 24 hours a day from any computer with an Internet connection.
Return to Work
We advocate early return to work with modified duty whenever appropriate, rather than complete removal from the workplace. To achieve an early return, we offer:
- Comprehensive physical evaluation and clearance exams
- Functional capacity evaluation using the Primus machine
- Patient-specific modified duty program
Independent Medical Examinations
Our physicians can determine whether an injured worker has reached maximum benefit from treatment or whether any permanent impairment remains from an injury. Our independent medical examinations are conducted for injured workers to determine the cause, extent and medical treatment of an injury. They provide a complete evaluation, including history and physical examination, and also address questions regarding the final degree of disability.
