Radiology:New Technology
Our commitment to offering the most advanced technology is evident at all of our locations, including Elmhurst Memorial Hospital where we provide the newest advancements in radiological testing equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of the patients we serve.
Aquilion ONE 320-Slice CT Scanner
Elmhurst Memorial Hospital is home to the first Aquilion ONE 320-slice CT scanner in the state. From Toshiba, the technology makes it possible for the first time to image an entire organ in a single rotation of the CT system. The new CT technology can also show how the organ and blood flow are dynamically functioning or moving within and around the organ.
The Aquilion ONE's advanced technology allows the system to be used for a variety of examinations. Beyond increasing the quality of images in standard cases, the system is fast enough to image the entire heart in less than a single beat.
Area High-Field, Open-Bore MRI (1.5 Tesla)
Representing the latest MRI technology from Siemens, this open-bore MRI offers high-quality imaging with more room for patients. The open-bore systems allow for more space and higher weight limit to best serve the needs of larger or claustrophobic patients. Many exams are completed with the patient's head outside of the magnet.
Full breast MRI and MRI-guided biopsies can be performed, supporting our testing options through our Breast Center that is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
