We provide physicians with specimen instructions to help ensure correct preparation, collection and handling procedures for each test.
Patient Safety and Privacy
To ensure accurate identification, our team always uses two identifiers when labeling specimens, posting results to medical records and relaying results to physicians over the phone.
Rapid Communication of Test Results
Fast turn-around time is one of the reasons physicians choose the EMH Reference Lab for medical tests. If any test result is critically abnormal, a lab team member will call the patient’s caregiver right away.
Expertise in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
The medical and technical staff in the EMH Reference Lab are trained, licensed and certified in the field of laboratory medicine and science, including hemostasis, molecular diagnostics, immunology, histology, cytology, cytogenetics, clinical chemistry, microbiology, virology and toxicology. We are also affiliated with May Medical Laboratories.
